You'll Be Glad They're Our Neighbor: Sasquatch Brewery and Taproom

The most satisfying phrase in production has to be, "That's a wrap." But a close second might be, "Who's up for a beer?"

Killing two birds with one stone, we located the Northwest's premier soundstage facility about a block from some of the best craft beer and cider in Portland: the taproom for Sasquatch Brewing Co. and New West Cider Co.

Founded in 2011, by two native Oregonians, Sasquatch Brewing Co. has operated under the same guiding principle since the beginning: great food and great beer for their friends and neighbors.

One of their founders, Tom Sims, used to work just up the street as a weld grinder and ship fitter at Nichols Brothers Boat and Barge. He helped to build a lot of the steel tugs and cruise boats that still run up and down the Willamette. Thirty years later, he’s brewing beer in the same neighborhood where he found his love of working with his hands and building things to last.

As you can imagine, Tom and his welding buddies, have done quite a job on all the metalwork for the beer and cider production equipment as well as the very cool interior of the taproom.

Right now, you have to go out our front door and all the way around the block to get to Sasquatch Brewing. We feel like that's too far to walk after a long production day and so are exploring how we might install another door for easier brewery access. Or maybe do a zipline from our roof. Stay tuned.
