When the latest version of Air Jordan or LeBron James basketball shoes are released, it's known as "drop day." (Not to be confused with the same term at paratrooper school.)

Recently, creative agency Cycle Media traveled all the way from Brooklyn, NY to shoot House of Hoops anchors Demetrius and Angelo for a series of drop day news clips for Footlocker. The resulting videos are currently being posted on the House of Hoops Instagram channel.

Basketball fans are waiting with bated breath for any news about when the new LeBron James shoes will be available and what they will look like. Once this is released, Footlocker will need to hire extra security to manage all the people camping out in front of their stores so they can be the first person on their block to own a pair.

Having helped them shoot the whole series, some of us at Cine Rent West are privy to all of this inside information. However, neither threats nor bribes will induce us to give up these trade secrets. And if you see one of us unrolling a sleeping bag inside Lloyd Center next Thursday, don't read too much into it.

Produced by Geoffery Warner under the skillful eye of DP Scott Uyeda, the segments were shot mostly on a House of Hoops news set. And yes, in a square format because it's for Instagram.

Because of good pre-planning and some cool new lighting automation, we were able to get quite a bit done in a single day.

Here are a few behind-the-scenes shots from the production.
