What We Learned From The "Don't Drive While High" PSA TV Shoot For ODOT

Just because marijuana is now legal in Oregon doesn't mean you can drive while buzzed.

Any impairment can be deadly.

In a PSA for the Oregon Department of Transportation, we hear the inner thoughts of six characters who have been smoking pot and are just about to start their car.

The message is: If you feel at all impaired, it's not worth the risk. To others. To you. To your family.

Written and directed by John Plymale with Ken Luba as DP, the spot was produced by Rex Post for Gard Advertising.

Each of the six actors appears in a close-up at the wheel of a car in six different locations around town. They were actually all shot in the the same car on our sound stage with a big green screen behind the back window.

It was a production where we were glad to have enough room on the soundstage to drive in a car and still have a good distance to the green screen, which gives the finished spot a very realistic depth.

Take a look at the production stills below. See the finished spot on Ken's Facebook page.
