Eclectic Sepiatonic Shoots Scenes From Their Polly Pepper Music Video On Our Soundstage
/Sepiatonic is not your average vaudeville/burlesque meets big band/electronica act with belly dancing.
During their show, this group of highly trained performers sets down their horns long enough to perform dance sequences that can only be described as acrobatic.
The music video for their latest release "Pretty Polly Pepper" is a perfect example of what has made their live performances so popular.
Ably shot and directed by our own Brynden McNew, the video features motorcycles, velvet-curtained night clubs, men on stilts, and women with fake lumberjack beards. And that's not even counting the dramatic "shadow" scenes shot on our soundstage, which featured literal gymnastics.
The athletic dance sequences are choreographed to fit the sometimes retro, sometimes modern, but always catchy instrumentation.
Fronted by Karolina Lux, Phil Stasz, and Aaron Lyon, the group was joined by frequent collaborator Polly Pepper, who played the titular role.
BTW, the original Polly Pepper first appeared in the beloved children's book Five Little Peppers And How They Grew. (They were a family with the last name Pepper, not garden produce.)
